Les Buttes et Vues des Paris
Hills and Vantage points to take your petite breath away at Christmas. Or anytime really...
 
FIY: 'Butte' in french is the name given to one single hill rising from the flatter ground around it?!

1. Butte de Chaumont

 
The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (19th) has distinct elevations with great panoramic views over Paris, including views of the Sacre Coeu. A Parisians'with a gorgeous manicured garden, lake and cliff formation in the centre (accessible) this is a spectacular park you would not expect to find in the middle of Paris.  MAP

2. Belleville Hill

 
Up on the slopes of Les Hauts de Belleville in Paris' (19th - an area largest uncovered but residential and beautiful and known as an artists neighbourhood), there are great views over the city from rue Piat and rue des Envierges, which lead to the modern but charming Parc de Belleville - you’ll be hard pushed to find a better skyscape than the one rolling below the Parc de Belleville. MAP

4. Arc de Triomphe

 
Admire Paris' grand avenues and the breathtaking panorama from one of the famous monuments in Paris. 360 degree views from Champs Elysees, to the Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, Monparnasse and to the La Defense.  Open daily for visits and climbs approx 9euro for adults. MAP

5. La Vue


 
La Ultimate View, for night time aperitif hour that is! This cosmopolitan classy chic bar located at the top of the Concorde Lafayette Hotel (17th), stirs up killer cocktails and DJs spin cool sounds, while you watch the city sparkle. MAP 

6. Centre Pompidou

 

A Museum with a View! Magnificent view on top of the Centre Pompidou, Paris' Museum of Contemporary Art holds some amazing exhibitions year round and for a bite, a drink or a moment to admire Paris head upstairs to the museum's panoramic French-fusion restaurant, admire the capital's steely rooftops and contemplate the art you've just admired, cocktail in hand. 7. Tulieries Ferris Wheel

 

Playtime with a View! Be childlike for a moment and ride the Ferris Wheel (glace in hand) in the middle of the Tuileries garden. The view going round is naturally spectacular and giddying. MAP

8. Lafayette Rooftop

 

Shopping with a View! The grand departments store you will get lost in, is a must see, must shop til you drop experience - Upstairs is a wonderful rooftop cafe La Terrass. Nothing feels better than an empty wallet, bags of new purchases, a drink in hand and a Paris view. MAP

Not to forget la view from le Eiffel, of course!
